Imaging and skin-analysis systems

Imaging systems record standardised photographs or surface measurements. They can help document appearance over time, but an image-analysis score is not a diagnosis and does not decide whether a cosmetic procedure is appropriate.

How it works

Depending on the system, cameras may capture ordinary, cross-polarised or ultraviolet images, or build a three-dimensional surface model. Software can then compare images or visualise selected features.
